Creaternity

Greaternity is a Christian Music Project based in Virginia Beach, VA, and was established in 2022 with the mission of glorifying God through music for a greater eternity.

“The Son of Man” is a song message that came from Jesus to Greaternity’s Bobby Joe Owens (aka Robert J. Thompson) after being born again in the Fall of 2021. The song is a message of renewed hope and is a reminder, an awakening, a calling and a reinforcement of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. “The Son of Man” is Christ’s own description of himself that appears in the New Testament Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John over eighty (80) times. “The Son of Man” is a highly exalted title in reference Christ’s divine authority in heaven and on earth. 

“The Son of Man will affect the born again and yet to be born again in wonderful, but different ways”, says Owens. 

Owens continues, “in the fall of 2021 after my fiancé had a near death experience following a minor surgical procedure. She went downhill quickly, was placed on a ventilator and given a fifty percent (50%) chance of survival. I hadn’t prayed in decades, but something deep down inside me told me to pray and to get as many as I could to join in. Pray we did and over the next few days, I witnessed several little miracles and the healing Grace of God. It wasn’t looking good, she was given the “Anointing of the Sick”, but she hung on and kept getting gradually better day by day. I finally brought her home after 3 weeks in the hospital and a rehab facility. After I felt she was out of the woods and on her way to a full recovery, I thanked God, asked how I could be of service and made it clear that I was ready to serve. To my surprise, God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ answered me. They knew I was a singer/songwriter and they “authorized” (not a mandate) me to write and record song messages from Jesus that were to be written and sung in the first person as if Jesus were singing. This authorization was so clear to me that I’ve never questioned it and have graciously accepted this as my mission for as long as the Holy Spirit guides me. They even gave me “The Son of Man” as the title of the first and most important of the song messages. Yes, other songs are written and many others started, however, none of the songs to come will be as essentially important as this one.” 

“The Son of Man” was recorded by Sound Engineer/Multi-Instrumentalist Chris Kendrick at his Whiskey Bear Studio in Virginia Beach, VA.  In addition to recording, Chris played all of the instruments on the song. Owens called on LA based singer/songwriter, Sakari Greenwell, to arrange and record the backup vocals and choir parts. Once all of the vocals and instrumentation were laid down, Owens turned over the stereo mixing and Dolby Atmos mixing/mastering to Award Winning Producer/Mixing Engineer Ken Lewis (BTS, Kanye West, Usher, CeCe Winans, etc). The stereo mastering has handed over to Award Winning Mastering Engineer, Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Herbie Hancock, Sheryl Crow, The Smashing Pumpkins, etc).

With the impending success of their debut single, Greaternity plans to record and release an entire album in 2024 with the help of Nashville Based Producer Simon Reid. All song messages on the album will spread the love, hope and understanding of Jesus Christ and His Gospel Message.
